Early Regency dress (1790s)
It's very practical and comfortable, except for the train.
This hat is based on a pattern by Lynn McMasters, as is the pleated green "bonnet" above.
I recycled (up-cycled?) an antique, hand-embroidered French bonnet base for this purse inspired by a similar one in the DAR's "An Agreeable Tyrant" exhibition catalog.
I based this purse on an ivory and gold example at the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art (item 1980.445.18)
Scouring the internet for period-appropriate patterned fabrics can be a pain. I was lucky to find this one.
Corded Regency stays for the 1810s, 20s, and even the 1830s (but I have yet to really sew into that decade!).
